The Vision
Sycamore Press began with a glimpse of what happens when people experience the Promised Land.

Since 1975, Dr. Stanley Udd has been making regular trips to the Promised Land. (Read more about Dr. Udd below). In March 1998, his brother-in-law, Don Enns, traveled with him to Israel. Don immediately began to dream of how people could be impacted by seeing the land that set the stage for God’s story. Don began to plan how to create powerful visual tools that would bring the setting of the Bible to life for people who might never see it in person.

Based on that dream, Don and Stan gathered a team to begin work on Sycamore’s premier product, the On Assignment DVD learning series. On Assignment combines Stan’s extensive knowledge of the Promised Land and teaching expertise with Don’s creative vision. The result is an engaging, effective educational tool that will deepen your understanding and appreciation of the Bible.

The Future
On Assignment: Geography of the Promised Land is just the first in what we hope will be an ongoing series of multimedia educational tools about the Promised Land. Part II of On Assignment: Archeology of the Promised Land is in production.

The Team
Don Enns, President
Don founded his second company, Sycamore Press, in 2002 to create multi-media educational tools about the Promised Land.

Since 1972, Don has owned and operated Master Track Productions, a successful audio visual production company that began as a sound recording studio in Hayward, California. The recording studio expanded into cassette duplication and the company experienced tremendous growth.

In 1991, Master Track opened a branch in Lincoln, Nebraska. In 1995, all operations were consolidated in Lincoln where the company provided cassette duplication services for the International ministries of Back to the Bible as well as numerous other clients including Lillenas Publishing, The Gallup Organization and Valentino’s Restaurants.

Don’s audio expertise, visual artistry and exacting standards ensure that each Sycamore Press production reflects excellence in both quality and content.


Dr. Stanley Udd, Instructor
The master teacher behind Sycamore Press’s On Assignment DVD curriculum is Dr. Stanley Udd, Chairman of General Studies and Professor of Biblical Languages at Grace University. He has more than 30 years of experience teaching teens and young adults.

Dr. Udd serves on the Board of Directors of the Consortium of the Bethsaida Excavations Project. He was invited to be a presenter at the 2004 meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society. Dr. Udd has done post-graduate work at the Institute of Holy Land Studies.

He has traveled extensively and led several student groups on study tours of Biblical sites in Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Israel and the West Bank.


Nathan Boeker, Director
Nathan combined his passions for the Bible and for emerging technology in production of Geography of the Promised Land. Nathan organized the content into effective learning segments and prepared the teacher’s manuals and workbooks that go with each On Assignment lesson. He also created the interactive maps that are an integral part of the series.

Nathan has Master’s Degrees in Educational Technology and Biblical Studies.
